The Website: This is a US car rental website for rideshare drivers.

The Challenge

  • Identify long tail keyword opportunities to target
  • Expand content into newly discovered niches that target the intended audience
  • Build high quality backlinks to establish the brand as an authority in the industry
  • Develop the site technically to make sure it was optimal for search engines

The Strategy

Number 1

Advanced Keyword Research

Keyword research is a vital component of any SEO strategy. Our team carried out a comprehensive keyword research with the aim of identifying search terms with low competition but high yield for the client to create new content around. We also leveraged the competition by highlighting keyword opportunities that our client's competitors were ranking for, but the client wasn't.

Number 2

Content Strategy

Once completing the keyword research, our team devised a robust content strategy and plan to target the new keyword opportunities. Apart from optimizing the existing content on the site's core landing pages, for existing keywords, we also created supporting blog content to help target long tail keywords. To build more topical authority and send relevance signals to Google, we also created long-form pillar content that showed the client's expertise within their field.

Number 3

Performing A Technical SEO Audit

Although the site already had a strong backlink profile, the anchor texts used were relatively safe with the majority of them being branded or URL-based. However, there were also many questionable anchors being used that were not relevant to the site - these were disavowed. Following the initial backlink review, we implemented a more aggressive outreach strategy by securing backlinks from topically relevant domains using a mix of targeted, keyword-rich anchors along with branded anchors to maintain a balance. This helped continue to build the site's authority so as to match the profiles of the site's competitors.

Number 4

Revamped Content Strategy

We revamped the client's content strategy by creating original content that could be later used to funnel users to the product pages. Many e-commerce sites ignore topical relevance in favor of creating product-specific content. We created more shareable, informational content that targeted high-volume keywords relevant to the client's niche, and added internal links to the money-making pages within those on-site content pieces.
